1 at Ripponden on the 10th September 2000(ME) a first record for the Vice County and Calderdale.

First recorded in 1927 and last taken in 1963(BC)
12 recent records fall between the last week in June and the last week in September
1 recorded at Park Road Elland on 16th September 1999 was a very late date.

2439 Gold Spot Plusia festucae (Linnaeus, 1758)Recorded at light throughout the area from the first week in June to the last week in August.6 recorded at light at Rochdale Road Walsden was a good count.

2440 Lempke's Gold Spot Plusia putnami Lempke, 1966
Seven record s for this tricky species, it is very similar to Gold Spot to the untrained eye and this may be the reason for so few records.Close examination of all Gold Spots in July will reveal this species to be commoner than records suggest.The first record of 1 at Moor End Gardens on the 5th August 2004(NCD)was identified by Philip Winter of Whitby on photographic evidence.

This immingrant is sometimes abundant and can be seen during the day as well as at light.Numbers increase in the autumn as home –bred specimens and immigrant swell the population .1 at light at Park Road on the 6th January 2002 and 1 at Northowram on the 6th November 2006.

Recorded at light from the last week in May to the last week of August.In 2001 at Moorend Gardens 66 recorded at light between the 27th .June and 27 July 2001 and 10 at light Hedge TopLane 16.June 2003.

Fairly frequent at light mid June – August.

Occasional at light early June – early August.

1 on 30th August 1987 (J.Fletcher) was the first record for the area.
Attracted to light and sugar records fall between the 22 August – 4 October from Park road, Northowram ,Todmorden and Gorpley Glough.Usually only singles recorded but 2 on the 11.Sept.2000 at Park Road. 1 was watched flying during the day at park wood crematorium 30.August 2002 (SW)

Severel recorded near Brighouse on the 29th May 1984(BC)
Established at the eastern end of Calderdale , with reports from Crmowell Bottom ,Copley,Hebden Bridge, Clifton and Northowram in 2008.

2466 The Blackneck Lygephila pastinum (Treitschke, 1826)*

This species is described as very local in Yorkshire and these are the only Calderdale records to date .-
1adult at Hedge Top Lane on the 13th July 2007 was attracted to light.This is the first record for Calderdale.(AC)
1 at light at Wyvern Terrace on 15th July 2008 (MH).
1 at light at Brookfoot on 22nd July 2008 and 2 on the 7th July 2009 (MSh)

2469 The Herald Scoliopteryx libatrixe
The first record of the hansome species was in 1965 of a hibernating imago and then one adult at light in 1965 at Elland.It is now recorded throughout the area at light,sugar and wine ropes from 31st March to 25thsSeptember .3 at wine ropes on the 25th Sept,2008 Hall wood Todmorden was the maximum count.
